Autumn term 2020
Baylins Ballet Barn in it's unique quiet rural setting, and with the high beamed ceiling is perfect for this situation.
Classes will run for an 11 week term, and students will be contacted individually ASAP. All the new guidelines will be explained to you for your safety. The "new normal" will be different with even smaller classes!
There will be two Grade 4 classes, two Grade 5 classes, one Grade 6 class, and two Grade 7 classes, including Repertoire and Benesh! There will also be the vocational levels.
The big news is that some of my classes will be taught by my daughter Anna Trevien, qualified Royal Ballet School teacher. Anna is the Senior Notator at the Royal Ballet. She has travelled extensively teaching Royal Ballet works, including La Sylphide, which will give the students a deep insight into the style for the Grade 7 classes.
José Martin and Kerry Birkett ran their first highly successful summer school at Baylins Ballet Barn with a small number of very talented and lucky dancers from the top vocational schools as well as from Baylins Ballet Barn
I am happy to share the latest news on some of my past students.
Sam Pitman (also at YDA) and Grace Mary Field have been offered full time places at Central starting in the 2020 autumn term.
- Ellie Hennequin has started dancing as a professional with Teatrul de Balet Sibiu in Romania, as from September 2019. She has had to return to the UK following the pandemic and is dancing at BBB almost every day.
- Laurence Elliott is doing extremely well at the Polish National Ballet in Warsaw, and was cast in many creations including Chopin's Concerto in F minor. He introduced the company on World Ballet Day in October 2019 and interviewed his director. He has stayed in Poland but dancing at BBB during the summer break.
Holly Williams has completed her full time training at Bird College and ready to become a professional dancer.
Lucy Malin has been able to get back into traning at Ballet West, following her illness. She was offered a job on a cruise ship, but now training for a teaching qualification.
Zara Mclellan was having a brilliant start at Arts Ed London, getting top marks and being chosen for exciting performance opportunities, till Covid 19 appeared.
What is clear to me, is that your ballet training is developping your resilience, determination and character. I am very proud of you. Don't give up!!
